Heya lovelies, how have your weekends been?
It’s actually been a really productive weekend for me! Yesterday I went to uni and sat my final exam for my first term of my course (YAY!). I am pretty confident I passed too, so I’m a bit over the moon about it! Today I got in a long run in, something I haven’t done in quite some time and it felt really freakin’ good! Then after my sweaty Sunday run session, Jared picked me up and we went out for a brunch date, something else we haven’t done in a while!
I chose Nan’s Place, a cafe I randomly came across while browsing online for new places to try. After reading a few great reviews, we decided to go and try it ourselves. I’m glad we did too, because I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! It was a cute, hole in the wall style cafe, with a cozy and welcoming interior and really friendly staff.
For coffee, I ordered a latte with almond milk. They used coffee from Reuben Hills and almond milk from Inside Out Nutritious Goods, . I love both of those companies, so I was really happy to see that they were both used there. They made for a really delicious coffee!

For brunch, Jared ordered the Club Sandwich (chicken, bacon, cheese, avo and greens) and I ordered the Brown Rice Bowl (brown rice, mushrooms, edamame, goji berries, nori, coriander and citrus vinaigrette).
I didn’t taste Jared’s meal as I was too busy digging into mine, but judging by the fact that there was barely any crumbs left on his plate, I’m going to assume that he loved it!
I couldn’t get enough of my brown rice bowl! Everything tasted so good together, especially the goji berries. I never thought to add them to a savoury dish, but they added such a nice twist to the dish. It was so good that it inspired my week’s lunch prep I got stuck into as soon as I got home from brunch. I’ll be sharing the recipe with you all tomorrow so stay tuned for that!
But seriously you guys, if you are near the Zetland area, please do visit Nan’s Place! It’s such a great little cafe and I’d happily go back again and again! There’s actually a few things I want to go back and try, like the pulled pork bun and the creamy spinach baked eggs! Mmmmm, I’m getting hungry just thinking about them!
