Last Wednesday, I popped into a gorgeous little shoe boutique called The Cook, His Wife & Her Shoes to learn all about the launch of their new charity campaign called Shoes For Sydney which is aimed at providing shoes for the less fortunate and the homeless. Shoes are one of the hardest items of second hand clothing to get, which makes this campaign all the more important!
The husband and wife duo have teamed up with the charity organisation Rough Threads to bring about this great new campaign. Rough Threads as established in 2011 and have been operating pop-up second hand clothing stores since then, providing much needed clothing for those who cannot afford it. I met the directors on the night and I was in awe of what they’ve been doing over the years and it was incredibly inspiring it was to see people so passionate about helping those in need.
If you would like to participate in the campaign, simply visit the The Cook, His & Her Shoes from now until further notice (an end date hasn’t been set yet), with shoes you’d like to donate and you will receive a $15 store credit for every pair you give, up to a maximum of $60. If you live around the Surry Hills area and have shoes laying around that you don’t wear anymore, please do consider it! Your old/unworn shoes can mean the difference between someone walking barefoot or walking comfortably.
